What is Java?
Actually, JAVA is a General Purpose High-Level Programming Language, it is mostly used for the development of any software or application. The main developer of this language was James Gosling. JAVA is a kind of Platform Independent Language, which can be used on any platform. This means that you can run Java Code on any OS.

All the codes written within the Java language are in English, whereas in other languages these codes are in Numeric and Text. Due to this quality, its code is very easy to understand, and this also makes it a high-level language. Java follows the concept of Oops, and the fundamentals of the C++ language are used in it. Some rules are followed to write any program in Java, and these rules are called Syntax.

Just as it is necessary to use the correct grammar to write English, it is also necessary to follow the syntax in Java. Whatever code is written by Java, it runs on all computers, regardless of whether both the machines are the same or not. For example, the code written in C++ has never been executed the same way in any other machine. Similarly, code written in Windows never runs in Mac OS, but Java is very useful in both these cases.

What is the use of Java?
It is mainly used to create any web-based program, mobile application, software, etc. All the versions of the operating system inside Android Mobile have been developed by JAVA itself.

How is Java Code Executed?
Java uses ACM-Abstract Computing Machine, which is also called JVM i.e. Java Virtual Machine, to run or execute the program code. JVM is actually a computer that runs all the Java programs. When a program is written, that written material is called source code. Compiling this source code with the help of Java Compiler. ByteCode is generated and JVM is used to execute this Byte Code. JAVA Interpreter resides inside the JVM, which executes that program.

Many upgrades have been made in the Java language from time to time which resulted in many versions of Java. Following are the versions of Java Language:-
